After my week away from home, I spent this Saturday loving being lazy around the house. I went to visit my Mama with my dogs, and this is Roxy, Mama’s oldest dog. She’s surveying her kingdom. :) When I went away to college, my brother and I got Roxy for my Mama. She’s such a sweet girl! :)

Day 53
My work conference was in Anaheim, so on my last night, I got to go visit Disneyland. Oh, my goodness, it was so much fun! I have so many pictures of this night and some of the rides…and it was awesome to be a kid, again!! :) My only problem? There were no characters walking around! I really wanted photos with the princesses and Minnie. Oh, well. Maybe, since next year’s conference is in Orlando, I can get pictures, then. :)

Day 50
I spent a week in California for a work conference. One of the days I was there, I was able to go with one of my co-workers to a Super Cross event(dirt bike races) in San Diego. This photo was right after we got there, and the riders were walking the track. This was also before it rained, so the track was completely different when they actually rode on it. Either way, it was my first Super Cross, and I had a blast! :) So.much.fun! :)

Day 41
We were supposed to get snow! And I was excited, because I was hoping for a 2 hour delay. Instead, this is what we go. Doesn’t the snow look pretty on my bottles on my bottle tree, though? :) So, I went to work at the normal time…talk about depressing. ;)

Day 40
Isn’t this so cute? After work today, I helped out with the high school girls Youth Group study. They get together every Wednesday, and I love these girls! The Taylor’s have horses, and their house is filled with all kinds of western-themed things. Someone gave her this card – it’s thumb print horse and cowboy. How cute?!? :)

Day 37
Go Packers!! :) After church, we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon, then headed over to the McKee’s for our Annual Superb0wl Party. Always fun to hang out with friends, watch some football, and actually watch commercials. I think this is the only time I don’t get annoyed with commercials! :) We were all happy that the Packers won!! :)

Day 36
While this is a super boring picture for you, it’s pretty awesome to me. :) It’s our new tile in our guest bathroom. Now, we just need to paint in there, and it’ll look brand new! :) While we were at the Jason Aldean concert on Friday night, Lyman, Marc’s dad, finished grouting all of this for us. He’s super handy like that! :) We enjoyed a relaxing day with the in-laws, then spent the evening at home watching “man” television shows.

Day 35
Oh, I had a hard time picking my favorite photo from this night! Haha! This is the best one with all of us in it, though. :) Gosh, this was a great night!! I took the day off – I needed a break from work, and Marc’s dad & step-mom were staying with us. I shopped with Melinda while Marc & Lyman put tile down in our guest bathroom (we’re renovating it). However, we already had plans to go to Greensboro to see Jason Aldean with Eric Church in concert. Such an awesome time! :) Oh, my goodness…love some Jason Aldean!! :) And time with these friends was also enjoyable! Can’t say enough wonderful things about this night! It was exactly what I needed. :)

Day 34
Day 34 = February 3, 2011. That means that it was almost 70* on February 3, 2011. It was a gorgeous day! I’m so thankful for days like this in the middle of winter to help remind us that spring is on the way. :)
Day 33
I took this picture as I was driving to work this morning. It’s not a great photo (thanks to my phone), but I loved how there was a distinction between the gray clouds and the sunny sky. I love living in the country where you can see the sky with no building interrupting my view. :)

Day 31
I printed out my 1099s and W-2s to be mailed today – they had to be post-marked by the 31st of January. So, I spent most of the afternoon printing, tearing, stuffing, sealing, and stamping. I was a bit of a procrastinator this year in regards to this. It’s okay, though. :) It got done. :)

Day 27
This is the menu new menu for the Wooden Nickel. Sadly, we were there 3 days in a row. Day 2 was the preview of the new menu. Our life group packed lunches with the college ministry for delivery on Saturday. Lots of soup, granola, peanut butter sandwiches, fruit snacks, Capri Suns, and packets of jelly. :) Dinner with Chris Mauer afterwards ended the day perfectly! :)

Day 26
This was in my devotion this night. Since I know it’s kind of hard to read, here’s what it says:
“God doesn’t wait for us to become spotlessly clean or totally mature in our faith in order to use us. Instead, he takes ordinary, willing people and accomplishes the extraordinary, both in their lives and in the lives of those around them.”
This was in reference to Rahab and how he used her to accomplish great things for his kingdom. This just kind of spoke to my soul, and soothed me.
Tuesday, January 25, 2011
Day 25
I spent most of the day at work trying to get everything ready so that I could print/create my 2010 W-2s and 1099s for the office staff and agents. :) This is the only part of taxes that I enjoy. All I have to do is print them. :)
Monday, January 24, 2011
Day 24
My glasses finally arrived in my mail today! :) I’ve had the same pair for well over a year, but they still worked – not too many scratches and such, so there was really no need for a new pair. But I wanted some. And they were inexpensive. I got both of these for under $50. I love the Internet. :)

Day 23
This is pretty much what the dogs did all weekend at Grant’s house. It went from all out playing to being lazy and loving being in the same room we were in. Paisley had a blast playing with Mayson all weekend. :) I think she and Ace were sad to go home, too!
Saturday, January 22, 2011
Day 22
Saturday, Grant gave us a tour of the facility he will be managing. This is the Activities Room…wouldn’t you love to be an old person with a cool place like this to play BINGO in? Seriously, though…it was super nice, and very pretty. It’s probably THE nicest assisted living center I’ve ever been in. He’s doing a great job! :)
Friday, January 21, 2011
Day 21
Marc & I took the dogs on a road trip to Fayetteville to see Grant & Katie. It’s the longest trip we’ve ever taken the dogs on. They usually just go with us to the lake, which is less than an hour away. They did really well, though! It’s hard to see, but this is the best they would do for me. You can see them in the back of my Explorer, on their new pillow. :) I know it’s dark and kind of hard to see…sorry!

Day 20
We had a life group meeting tonight to discuss what our curriculum for the next few months. Afterwards, Allie & Ava pulled out all of their Zu Zu Pets. Jenna and Jennifer were good sports about playing with them. :)
Wednesday, January 19, 2011
Day 19
This is my cousin Lindsey & me at bowling. I’ve been helping out with the high school girls in the youth group, and we had a bowling night. It was fun and nice to hang out with the other girls, but especially with Lindsey. She’s so sweet! :)
Tuesday, January 18, 2011
Day 18
Well, my original plans were to go to dinner with the girls tonight, but I double-booked myself and ended up having to go to a Finance Team meeting at church tonight. So, after work, I headed home to grab some food, then went to the church office. We reviewed 2010 final numbers and then talked about some processed that we wanted to work on immediately. I love the feeling I get from helping out with them. Love it! :)
Monday, January 17, 2011
Day 17
This is what I look at when I work out at home. I usually just use the elliptical, and when I do, I watch TV. I’ve tried to watch shows like Grey’s that I have on DVR, but it’s too slow moving, and I get bored quickly. I prefer to watch something that’s more upbeat. My all-time favorite thing to watch is Dancing with the Stars. I love that show. I don’t really care how well-known the “stars” are, I just love the dancing. So, that’s what I did today after work. :)
Sunday, January 16, 2011
Day 16
I have been such a slacker about my daily devotions. So, I decided that today would be the day that I dove back in. My devotional book is about the Women of the Bible (I‘m pretty sure that’s the title of the book). It’s been really neat to look at their different roles through the history the Bible talks about. So…this is my new Bible, my devotion boo, and my bookmark (one of the engagement pictures – y’all that’s about 6 years old now…crazy!).
Saturday, January 15, 2011
Day 15
I finally got the tree down, and all (almost) of my decorations put away. Now, my living room looks so bland in the corner! I miss the twinkle lights! I left one of my snowmen up…I mean, it’s still snowing, so he’ll stay up for a little while. :) After I put up my decorations, I cleaned up a bit. Saturday evening, we spent with friends, eating oysters and shrimp, duck and veggies. So yummy and fun to spend time with our friends! :)
Friday, January 14, 2011
Day 14
After work, Marc and I went with 3 of our friends to dinner at La Cocina. It’s our absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. Probably our favorite, altogether. My margarita was wonderful, as was the company. It was a great way to end the week! :)
Thursday, January 13, 2011
Day 13
Today was a typical work day. Afterwards, I came home to read. I really do love my nook like nothing else. :) I think it’s probably one of my Top 5 gifts…ever. :) Seriously love! :)
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
Day 12
This is all that’s left of our snow. Which means I had to go to work today, however, I did get a 2 hour delay, which was wonderful. :) I even left a little early, to ensure that I didn’t hit any slick spots on the way home. It was a nice, low-key day at work, and then just hanging out with Marc at home. :)
Tuesday, January 11, 2011
Day 11
I know this photo is really dark, but that’s my Paisley running around in the snow. It’s a picture of pure joy! We woke up this morning to white roads…not so much snow-covered everything, but it did keep us home from work. Which I was overjoyed with! :) We slept in, then went for a walk with the dogs over to my Mama and Daddy’s house so they could play with Elixer and Roxy. They had so much fun running around. Then, I spent the afternoon taking down most of my Christmas decorations. Sad to see them go…
Monday, January 10, 2011
Day 10
This is snow falling. This is also well past noon, which is when the weather people said we would be getting snow. This is much closer to 7:00-8:00. But that’s okay. It was pretty as it was coming down, and I thought this was a neat photo. :) I love snow!! :)
Sunday, January 9, 2011
Day 9
That’s how cold it was when I drove to church today. Seriously – too cold for my preference! :) I worked the multi-media at church this morning. After church, Marc and I spent the afternoon just relaxing around the house. Perfect Sunday. :)
Saturday, January 8, 2011
Day 8
This is the exhaust from a Chevrolet truck in my hometown. Yep – they were in the shape of the Chevrolet “bowtie.” And they were seriously awful. As you can tell, it’s bent. Both of them were, this one just wasn’t as bad. This was the first time I’d ever seen exhaust pipes that looked like this, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a picture. :) Other than that, Marc and I went to Wal-Mart to stock our kitchen. Then, we went to dinner & a movie with friends. ;) Fun day!

Day 7
Thursday, January 6, 2011
Day 6
We had such a lovely evening! It was great!! :) I spent my evening watching television (watching Big Bang Theory) and reading American Wife on my nook. My nook is probably one of my favorite presents I’ve ever received. LOVE it! :)
Wednesday, January 5, 2011
Day 5
Doesn’t this just look yummy? One of our Christmas gatherings was cancelled because it snowed Christmas and the day after. So, my Mama had all this food that she needed to use before it went bad. Lucky for Marc and myself, we got to enjoy some of it! :) She made this great twice baked potato casserole, so Marc and I added rotisserie chicken and broccoli and cheese. :) It was sooo good! :)
Tuesday, January 4, 2011
Day 4
Today was a typical work day for me. Spent the majority of the day at work, then I went to dinner with March. After that, I came home to fold a mountain of laundry. This is the finished product…it’s MUCH more appealing than the pile it was before. :)
Monday, January 3, 2011
Day 3
This is what my day consisted of…getting back into work. I had a hard time getting my brain to transition into work-mode after the holidays. The day was definitely long, but that’s okay. However, I did decide over Christmas that I would rather enjoy being a stay at home mom. I know it’s hard work, but oh, the joy of being able to do crafts and clean and cook throughout the day, instead of trying to stuff all of those activities into the evening and weekend hours. Oh, well…I can dream! :)

Day 2
We drove home from Beaufort, and this is the view on the way out. It was a gray, overcast, foggy afternoon…kind of matched my mood. I didn’t want to leave! I love this little boat, though…braving the weather to be on the water. I’m already longing to return to this little piece of heaven on earth. :)

Day 1
We spent New Years in Beaufort, NC with our friends. This is Marc and I at the New Year’s Party. We had a great time dancing, playing corn hole, watching the Ball in NYC drop, toasting to friends, and a kiss from my love at midnight. :) It was our second year to celebrate in Beaufort, and it was nice to get away for a few days to relax before the new year starts. :)
Welcome!
Hi, everyone! Since about the middle of 2010, I have really wanted to participate in Project 365, but I wanted a concrete date to use. So, one of my goals for 2011 is to make sure I document a year of my life in photos. Those photos will be published here. While I may not actually publish them daily, I will make sure to take photos daily. :)
Here’s the concept:
"Project 365 is the act of taking or using a picture every day for a year, forcing an individual to slow down and take a different look at the world around them."
Basic Rules/Tips:
1. Bring Your Camera Everywhere
2. Try to capture the day’s events in a single photo.
3. Tell a Story
4. Don’t Stop, No Matter What!
Start date: January 1, 2011
End date: December 31, 2011
So, I hope you enjoy my journey! :)
